Our Beliefs

Too Pure To Live On Earth

The Lord takes many away, even in infancy, that they may escape the envy of man, and the sorrows and evils of this present world; they were too pure, too lovely, to live on earth; therefore, if rightly considered, instead of mourning we have reason to rejoice as they are delivered from evil, and we shall soon have them again.

Joseph Smith Jr.

As many of you may know, we are active members of the Church of Jesus Christ, of Latter-day Saints; the Mormons.  From time to time we have been asked what are our beliefs now that Carissa has passed.  We are including a link to an official web site of the church for those that might have questions.

It is found at www.mormon.org

Twice a year, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holds a General Conference where various Church leaders give talks on a number of different subjects.  These General Conferences are held in April and then again in October.  At the October 2002 General Conference, Elder Lance B. Wickman gave a talk entitled "But If Not".  In it, he spoke to those with children who have died or those with sick children.  We have included a link to his talk as it is a wonderfully put piece for those in this situation.
